The NDPP scheduled a PPPSG financial year kick-off session for the new municipal financial year on 10 April 2025.
The session featured the following key components:

- A feedback presentation addressing the challenges raised by metros during the mid-year assessment sessions.
- A learning segment, led by the City of Cape Town and the City of Joburg, offering reflections on Project Prioritisation and the Strategic Planning of Programme and Project Preparation initiatives.
Guidance for metros on the approach and submission criteria for Work Plan submissions for the 2025/26 financial year. The session was well-attended, with 53 officials representing all eight metros.
