On 16 April 2025, the NDPP hosted an online PEP learning session with municipal officials from eight metros. The session covered the following:

  • A learning segment presented by the Presidency, focusing on innovation through:
    • The design of work aligned to labour market demand;
    • Co-ops support;
    • SMME support through waste management; and
    • Applying skills already developed through artisan programmes
  • A briefing on the approach and requirements for PEP Business Plan submissions for the 2025/26 financial year.

A total of 63 officials from all eight metros participated in the session.
